Todd B. Engel, DDS

Owner, Founder

Dr. Todd B. Engel, originally from Van Nuys, California, has resided in Orange County, California since 1997. He is a graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, where he also received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Engel is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and maintains active membership status with the following associations: Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, California Dental Association, and Orange County Dental Society.

Dr. Engel has extensive experience in dental implant rehabilitation, CT-guided surgical design, complex treatment planning, as well as full mouth rehabilitation.

Dr. Engel has hosted live radio, authored several articles, and has been a featured keynote speaker both nationally and internationally on topics, such as dental implants and restorative applications, digital radiography, CBCT (cone beam technology), ridge augmentation and socket preservation, treatment of the edentulous patient, current dental materials, as well as comprehensive treatment planning on medically compromised patients.

In 2005, Dr. Engel’s lifelong dream of creating a learning institution where he could share, teach, and motivate other dental professionals was realized by the inception of the Engel Institute. The institute has grown to all over the U.S., now including three flagship locations with faculty both nationally and internationally, and has trained well over 8,000 dental professionals in its short tenure.

Dr. Kosinski has placed over 14,000 dental implants, published over 200 articles on the surgical and prosthetic phases of implant dentistry, and contributed to the textbook, “Principles and Practices of Implant Dentistry and Dental Implantation and Technology.”

Darryl Burke, DDS

Dr. Burke was born and raised in the Chicago area. He graduated high school in 1985. In 1988, he attended Loyola University Chicago Lake Shore Campus, where he decided to take the Dental Aptitude Test (DAT) and apply for dental school before he received his Bachelor of Science. He got accepted and received his dental degree in 1992 from Loyola School of Dentistry in Maywood, Illinois.

After graduation, he practiced with his father and concentrated on full mouth rehabilitation and occlusion. He spent his spare time as the dentist for the town of Cicero, Illinois. There, he helped the less fortunate, doing lots of surgery by removing infected teeth, performing pediatric dentistry, and stabilizing patients that needed help.

In 1996, Dr. Burke moved to California. In 1998, he started his own practice focusing on general, family, and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Burke has been restoring implants since 2000. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Contra Costa Association, and the California State Dental Society. He is a graduate of the Engel Institute, where he learned surgical placement of implants, advanced surgical and grafting techniques, and full mouth reconstruction, utilizing guided surgery by the use of Cone Beam technology and surgical stents provided by companies such as Anatomage.

He has performed many successful surgeries involving immediate extraction and placement, implant placement, and All-on-4® placement by using guided surgery techniques. Dr. Burke is also a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Keyes then returned to South Dakota, where he worked in private practice and in public health, practicing general and cosmetic dentistry with an emphasis on operative dentistry, emergency dental care, and exodontia. He also instructed at the Center for Family Medicine in Sioux Falls, SD, where he taught dental anesthesia to family practice residents.

In 2010, he purchased a private practice in Madison, South Dakota, where he completes all aspects of dentistry for his rural community of Madison, with his favorite discipline being that of implant dentistry. Dr. Keyes also works with South Dakota Partners for Prevention, teaching local physicians and residents, and presents to South Dakota Medical Assistants Association about dental health and its effects on the body.

Since completing the Engel Institute curriculum in 2013, Dr. Keyes has been an integral member of the Engel Institute’s dental implant training faculty, mentoring and supporting the Charlotte, North Carolina location.

Dr. Keyes is active in receiving continuing education. He has logged more than 800 CE hours since the completion of dental school. Dr. Keyes has obtained CE from Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Combat Casualty Care Course (Field Medicine Training at the Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute), and American Orthodontic Society (Comprehensive Orthodontic Education).

He is a former Faculty Club Member at Spear Institute. He has completed all seminars (Creating Esthetic Excellence, Demystifying Occlusion, Treating the Worn Dentition, and The Art of Treatment Planning and Case Presentation) and the following workshops: Facially Generated Treatment Planning and Occlusion in Clinical Practice.

Dr. Keyes is a standing member of the American Dental Association, South Dakota Dental Association, Southeastern District Dental Society, American Orthodontic Society, and the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Avi Schetritt, DMD

Dr. Avi Schetritt is a board-certified periodontist. A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease and the placement of dental implants.

Dr. Schetritt grew up in Montreal, Canada, where he completed his undergraduate studies at McGill University. He then went on to receive his dental degree (DMD) at the University of Montreal. After two years in general private practice, Dr. Schetritt returned to school, this time to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where he completed his periodontal residency program.
