Surgical Assisting Precision with the understanding and ability to be more involved, valuable and confident.

Day 1 AM
7:45 - 8:30AM Registration & Sign in
8:30 - basic implantology
1. Financial & Informed Consents signed
2. Sterilization/infection control and room setup
3. Pre surgical basics - Health History (updates), Chlor-Hex rinse, vitals including any new pre-meds, post-op appointment and post-op instructions, etc
4. Pre-op Xray/CBCT inc radiographic marker ball (take or have up)
5. Implant/grafting/etc - procedure
6. Instrumentation overview
7. Medication overview
8. Basic chairside implantology
11:00 - Dental Implant procedure demo by Engel Institute Dr.
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch
Day 1 PM
1:00 - Extraction - Grafting procedures
1. Biology review
2. Extraction techniques
3. Grafting materials (bone substitutes, biological membranes, collagen plugs, etc)
4. Procedure flow
5. Suturing materials and wound management
6. Basic anatomy review
7. Timing and maturation or turnover of grafting materials after extraction(s)
8. Medicinal protocols and pain management post op
9. Complications
3:00 - 4:00 Grafting demo by Engel Institute Dr
4:00 - 5:00 Q & A and closing statements
Day 2 AM
8:00AM sign in
1. Basic Guided surgery procedures.
2. CBCT review for the assistant
3. Chairside IOS scanning
4. Understanding uploading files for guided surgical design
5. Guided surgery Single site protocols including surgical procedure and guide nomenclature (tooth, tissue and/or bone supported guides)
6. Uploading data to design hub for guide fabrication
11:00 - Single site guided surgery demo by Dr. Engel
Day 2 PM
7. Multiple site protocols
8. Over-denture and full mouth guided surgical needs pre-operatively and post-operatively.
9. Review of prosthetic components for all implant related procedures
10. Dental Emergencies
2:30-5 Review, Q & A and final comments

Tuition includes all lecture materials, all necessary hands-on materials, surgical supplies, surgical inventory, and meals (light breakfast and lunch both days).
